Our Regenerative Journey with Regenified

At Brow Farm, our story is rooted in tradition — but our future is driven by regeneration.

For over 50 years, the farm followed the standard modern farming path: yield-focused, input-heavy, and reliant on chemical interventions. It worked — until we realised it wasn’t how things were meant to work.

We saw signs in our soils, in the resilience of our crops, and in the systems we were supporting. So we made a decision: to change direction and farm in a way that doesn’t just sustain the land, but actively restores the farm to once again a part of the natural world it had become detatched from.

Why We Chose Regenified

Joining Regenified isn’t a badge for us — it’s a benchmark. It’s a clear, third-party way of demonstrating what we believe in and what we’re doing here on the ground.

Through Regenified’s certification process, we’ve mapped our fields, tracked our inputs, and documented our transition away from synthetic fungicides and pesticides. We’re now officially part of a movement that focuses on:

  • Soil health
  • Biodiversity
  • Water and nutrient cycling
  • Resilience in farming systems

This recognition helps us share our values with the businesses and people we supply, especially as we grow our customer base in the UK.

What We’ve Done So Far

  • All the land we are farming is covered in living roots year-round
  • We’ve eliminated fungicide and pesticide use from the land we farm
  • We're using foliar feeds and biological amendments instead of synthetic fertilisers
  • We’ve invested in our own compost producing and bio;ical extraction system from that compost.
  • And we’re tracking changes in soil health through both lab tests done by Regenified and our own hands-on observation

Where It’s Taking Us Next

Our goal over the next three years is to apply regenerative practices across all our land — including fields that have been under intensive lettuce production for over three decades.

We’ll be testing, tracking, and adjusting as we go — not because we have all the answers, but because we’re asking better questions.

We want to prove, financially and practically, that this kind of farming is possible — even in West Lancashire. Even on mixed soils. Even on a working commercial farm.

Why It Should Matter to You

Whether you’re a baker, a business owner, or just someone who believes in better food systems — we want you to feel confident using what we grow.

With Regenified certification, you can say with certainty that the flour, grains, or heat-pack ingredients you’re buying from Brow Farm come from land that’s being regenerated, not just surtaned or worse depleted.

Let Us Grow Something Better

We know that change doesn't come from the top — it starts in the soil. And if a third of us move this way, the system will shift.

Thanks for being part of our regenerative journey.
We’re just getting started.
